Removal and installation of power shafts

Removal
|
For performance of this work the divider of spherical support, and also a new nut of the bottom support is required. |
|
1. Prop up protivootkatny boots back wheels. To Poddomkratta a car front also establish it on props. Remove the corresponding forward wheel. On models where for access to a nut of fastening of a power shaft it is enough to remove a protective cap of a rim, otdavany nuts should be made before the car will be lifted over the earth: a) Prop up forward wheels and remove a disk cap; b) Firmly cock the parking brake; c) Execute the procedure described in item 4; d) Weaken a nut of a power shaft by means of a face key suitable on the size. 2. Merge transmission oil/ATF (address to Head Routine maintenance). 3. On the models equipped with ABS, give a fixing nut and a bolt and remove from the holder of a nave the thermofilter. After the screen remove the wheel ABS sensor (address to Head Brake system) (see an illustration
the Wheel ABS sensor with the thermofilter). |
4. If the nut of fastening of a power shaft was already weakened (see item 1), pass to performance of the procedure described in item 6, otherwise take a R-shaped clamp and remove a lock cap of a nut. |

5. Screw in a nave and strongly tighten at least two of bolts of fastening of a wheel. Ask the assistant to squeeze out firmly a pedal of a foot brake for the purpose of prevention of a provorachivaniye of a nave, then use a face key of the suitable size and give a nut of fastening of a power shaft. alternatively blocking of a nave can be made by means of easily made of two metal plates, one bolt and three nuts of the adaptation. Remember that the nut is tightened very hardly, and therefore, its otdavaniye is connected with risk of a soskalzyvaniye of the car from props. In the presence of such possibility (see item 1), weakening of a nut should be made before the car will be lifted over the earth. |

6. Weaken and partially unscrew a nut of the bottom spherical support of a forward suspension bracket (the nut is left on a shaft of a spherical finger for the purpose of protection of its carving). Now use a special divider for a support partition. Finally remove a nut. |

Left power shaft
|
1. Carefully delay stupichny assembly outside, accurately liberating from it an external pin of a power shaft. In case of need the shaft can be beaten out from a nave by means of a hammer with soft the brisk. |

2. Tie up a shaft, then take its internal pin from transmission. Try not to damage an epiploon. Remove a shaft from the car. |

Right power shaft
|
1. Give nuts of two bolts of fastening of the intermediate bearing. |
|
2. Then develop bolts under 90 ° for the purpose of liberation of their asymmetric heads from an external holder of the bearing. |
|
3. Having accurately pulled stupichny assembly outside, liberate from it a pin of the external CV JOINT of a shaft. In case of need the shaft can be beaten out from a nave by means of a hammer with soft the brisk. 4. Tie up the external end of a shaft and pull for internal section for the purpose of liberation of assembly of the intermediate bearing from a basic arm. 5. After shaft liberation from transmission remove from it an internal dustproof cover (try to remember the adjusting provision of a cover). |

Installation
|
1. Before installation check an epiploon condition in a transmission case. In case of need make replacement (see. Head Transmission).
|
Originators of the real Management recommend to make replacement of epiploons of power shafts regardless of their condition. |
2. Carefully wipe shlitsa since both ends of a shaft and an opening under their landing in transmission and stupichny assembly. Slightly grease with dense greasing of a sponge of an epiploon, a shlitsa and a persistent coat hanger of a pin of a shaft. Check reliability of a tightening of bandage tapes of fastening of protective covers.

Left power shaft
|
1. Get an internal pin of a shaft in transmission, having entered into gearing the corresponding shlitsa. Trying not to damage an epiploon, push a shaft in differential against the stop. 2. Accurately enter into gearing external shlitsa of a shaft and push assembly in a wheel nave. 3. Correctly plant in the lever the bottom spherical support, screw and tighten with demanded effort a new fixing nut. 4. Grease with pure impellent oil inside and a carving part of a nut of fastening of a power shaft. Screw a nut on a carving part of an external pin. Block a nave from a provorachivaniye, having used one of 5 ways described in paragraph. Tighten a nut of fastening of a shaft with demanded effort. Check freedom of rotation of a nave. At the corresponding possibility (see the subsection "Removal", item 1) the stupichny nut should be tightened after car lowering on the earth. 5. Plant on a nut a lock cap so that one of its cuts was combined with an opening in a shaft pin, then block assembly by a R-shaped clamp. 6. At the corresponding complete set establish into place the wheel ABS sensor with the thermofilter (address to Head Brake system). 7. Establish into place a wheel, lower the car on the earth and tighten nuts of fastening of a wheel with demanded effort. 8. Fill in in transmission necessary amount of transmission oil/ATF of a demanded grade (address to Head Routine maintenance). |

Right power shaft
|
1. Check freedom of rotation of the intermediate bearing (the bearing should be turned without breakthroughs, thus relative люфт its external and internal holders should remain uniform). In case of need make bearing replacement (see. Replacement of the intermediate bearing of the right power shaft). Check a condition of a dustproof cover, in case of need make replacement. 2. Slightly grease with dense greasing an external holder of the bearing and internal sponges of a boot. |
3. Pass the internal end of a shaft through a basic arm of the bearing and accurately plant on a regular place a boot (a flat surface to transmission). |

4. Accurately fill an internal pin of a shaft in a lateral gear wheel of differential. Try not to damage an epiploon. Plant in a basic arm the intermediate bearing, then push a shaft in transmission against the stop. In case of need use a hammer with soft brisk for landing of an external holder of the bearing in an arm. 5. Pass shlitsa of the external CV JOINT in a wheel nave. |
6. Make sure of correctness of an arrangement of a power shaft, then develop under 90 ° asymmetric bolts of fastening of the intermediate bearing. Tighten fixing nuts with demanded effort. |

7. Check density of landing of a boot on an epiploon. |
|
8. Execute the procedures described in subsection "Installation - the Left power shaft", subitem 4 — 8. |
