Removal and installation of components of a safety cushion

See the precautionary measures given in the previous section.

General information

Sensors of a safety cushion are built in the electronic control unit (ECU) of the system, which built in in a steering wheel of the car. The control lamp is built in safety cushion assembly.

In case of any doubts in serviceability of functioning of system, immediately address for consultation to specialists of car-care center. At all do not undertake independent attempts of carrying out diagnostics of a condition of system, or service of its components, besides described below procedures of removal and installation of the module of a safety cushion or its rotating drum-type socket.

Electronic control unit (ECU) of a safety cushion

The block is built in a steering wheel and in an individual order is not delivered. The description of procedures of removal and installation of a steering wheel is provided in Head "A running gear and a steering".

Safety cushion module

Removal

The module of a safety cushion is built in in the central part of a steering wheel.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Make system deactivation (see. A safety cushion - the general information, precautionary measures and system deactivation). 2. Turn a steering wheel so that to provide access to two screws of fastening of the module of a safety cushion. Screws are located from the back party of assembly of a steering wheel.
3. Turn out two fixing screws.
4. Liberate one of edges of the module of a safety cushion of the central part of a steering wheel, then develop the module the released edge outside, completely without removing it.
5. Carefully disunite the orange contact socket of electroconducting of system, then finally take the module from assembly of a steering wheel.
6. If the module acts in film from the car for a long time, take the appropriate measures of precaution on its storage (see. A safety cushion - the general information, precautionary measures and system deactivation).

Installation

Installation is made upside-down. Pay attention to the next moments:
a) Try not to drop and not to shake the established module of a safety cushion;
b) Having finished module installation, make system activation (see. A safety cushion - the general information, precautionary measures and system deactivation).

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Remove the safety cushion module (see above). 2. Remove a steering wheel (address to Head the Body and salon furnish). 3. Remove casings of a steering column (address to Head the Body and salon furnish).
4. Find on the right under a steering column two tips of electroconducting of the drum-type socket and disunite them. 1 — Shtekernye sockets of electroconducting of a radio tape recorder 2 — Shtekernye safety cushion sockets
5. By means of a small screw-driver release a fixing clamp.
6. Remove the rotating drum-type socket from a steering column.
7. Liberate electroconducting from a casing (in case of need remove assembly of the podrulevy switch).

Installation

Installation is made upside-down.
